ruby (dark); herbal, spicy, cherry, blackcurrant, pencil shavings?; smooth, ripe cherry, spice; ripe tannins, juicy acid; balanced now but needs mo time for the elements to come together and develop some secondary complexity; medium/full bodied; medium length; young; BANG!(-)

domain saint cosme gigondas 2007
ruby; cherry, long pepper, casis?, talc?, clay, grilled meat; ripe cherry and plum (but not enough of it), mineral, spice/pepper; heaps of furry tooth coating tannin; could do with more acid; not long ... bit of prune and some bitterness at the end; somewhat hollow unbalanced mouthfeel ... meagre fruit and acid at this early stage; medium/big bodied; high alcohol as usual; POP! ...
earlier drops (05 and 06) were excellent ... there's always the first time ...
