st cosme cote du rhone les duex albion 2006 (s,g,m,carignan and a white, clairette)
dark ruby; plum, raspberry, whiff of cinnamon, pepper, a little gilled meat, wet clay; ripe plum, fleshy? and fresh, mineral; firm but fine tannins; nice juicy balancing acidity; medium body and length; BANG! good stuff for the price.

a drop at last
dinner with the old guy, mum's left him and gone off to melbourne for coupla weeks ... so he's home alone.

notes very similar to earlier sample except that there was no big fat fruit here ... anyway at the time, alcohol content was more important.
