shaw & smith m3 chardonnay 2005 [adelaide hills]light gold; peach, citrus, ripe pear, whiff of vanilla and caramel; peach, pear, citrus rind, hint of caramel and oak; a little stony/flinty; not overoaked nor a fruitbomb; neither a lean nor overly plump mouthfeel, but there's malo; balanced by nice juicy acidity; off dry entry but finishes dry, felt that it broadened midpalate before fading slowly; longish finish; medium bodied; seamless?; 13%; a very nice drop at a decent price.
chased down a quite ordinary grilled teriyaki chicken burger at dinner... BANG!
